Call For Boycott of Trump's Celebrity Apprentice

Allen Roskoff, a New York gay rights activist, is calling for a boycott of Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice. Trump, who is possibly looking at a Presidential bid, recently stated he did not believe is same sex marriage and went on to say "no" to civil benefits as well.

Roskoff called Trump's stance "unconscionable," thinks the LGBT community should boycott the Celebrity Apprentice, as well as the business man's other ventures.

"Not only should gays be furious, we should be boycotting the products of the advertisers on his TV show, and certainly boycotting his casinos and hotels and apartment buildings," said the long-time activist, who also described Trump an "extreme bigot."

Roskoff continued, "[Trump's] game plan is to appeal to the extreme right. How he does business in New York, how he's tolerated is beyond me. I think things are going to change for him."

Finding Mr. & Ms. V - Sunday at Voyeur

The University of Pennsylvania HIV Prevention Research Division and the Safeguards LGBT Health Resource Center will host the Ms. Lady V and Mr. V Drag Pageant and Competition on March 6, 2011 at Voyeur Nightclub in Philadelphia, PA. The event begins at 7:00PM and will help raise awareness of, and promote participation in, clinical HIV vaccine trials.

Ten contestants will vie for the title of ‘Ambassador,’ and compete in their finest / most creative clothing, with lip sync performances and a question and answer portion on the significance of HIV prevention and vaccine research. These activities will demonstrate why they are best-suited to serve as ‘Ambassador’ for local HIV vaccine research opportunities that are available in the area.

“HIV is still a serious public health concern and requires additional strategies for ending it. Participation in activities to find a safe and effective HIV vaccine may be our best hope,” said Dr. David Metzger, Director of the HIV Prevention Research Division.

“We are excited to have an event for and with the community that will inform, entertain, and inspire,” said Debora Dunbar, Clinic Coordinator of the HIV Prevention Research Division.

The Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening is NYC’s Harmonica Sunbeam, the famed drag queen and comedian. The pageant will feature additional drag performances by Brittany Lynn, Jaci Adams, and George Bullock. Local musical sensations Tanja Dixon and Jeff Vitelli will also perform. International “out” artist, Tony Enos, will debut his new single “Bust It” from his upcoming album The Champ. Former director of Philadelphia’s AIDS Activities Coordinating Office, John Cella, will serve as one of the seven judges.

Harding President Finds Gay Students Experiences "Offensive and Degrading"

This is so sad, Dr. Burks, the president of Harding University, does not even recognize that his words and actions defending the Universities policies are the reason young kids are committing suicide. Dr. Burks tried to defend the University's position on blocking the zine (a gay website where students share their experiences on campus) published by HU Queer Press. Take a listen as he calls the site "offensive and degrading" to him personally.
...welcome to lower education.

Mimi Imfurst to launch The Doll House Revue

Several weeks ago Mimi Imfurst was told her weekly Wednesday night show in Philadelphia was coming to an end. Her weekly home, Q Lounge, was to be sold. Unfortunately, Q's circumstances changed and will remain open. However, in those few weeks of uncertainty the calls from various venues came pouring in to pick up the show. Mimi weighed all her options and when the smoke cleared Voyeur Nightclub came out on top.

Of course, a new venue called for a revamped show and an new name andThe Doll House Revue was born. A Vegas-style show is being created - complete with costumes, big hair (LOL) and routines from local and national performers.

“I’ve waited a very long to present this type of show. THE DOLLHOUSE REVUE is a unique type of show and Voyeur is the perfect venue for the show. THE DOLL STARS have been rehearsing and the group numbers are going to be off the hook. We’re bringing in tables and chairs, but I doubt you’ll be able to stay in your seat for long,” says Imfurst.

It all kicks-off on Wednesday, March 16th at 10pm on Voyeur's (1221 St. James St. - Philadelphia) main floor.

Westboro Baptist Allowed To Protest Funerals

The Supreme Court, by an 8-1 vote, said members of Westboro Baptist Church can protest funerals under free speech. The father of a fallen Marine had sued the small church, saying those protests amounted to targeted harassment and an intentional infliction of emotional distress.

"Speech is powerful. It can stir people to action, move them to tears of both joy and sorrow, and -- as it did here -- inflict great pain. On the facts before us, we cannot react to that pain by punishing the speaker," the court's decision said.

American Family Assoc. Lawyer - DOMA Is Unconstutional

The American Family Association should have asked their lawyers if they thought the Defense of Marriage Act was constitutional before they put them on their show. Watch as their attorney tells the host he thinks DOMA is unconstitutional...classic!

Just to clarify: Obama never supported DOMA - In fact, he opposed it throughout the 2008 campaign. As for the Palin reference of not deffending Row v. Wade - it was a Supreme Court decision, not a law passed by Congress....making it a much different set of circumstances.

Anti-Gay Rev. Grant Storms Arrested for Public Masterbation

Rev. Grant Storms, who is famous for protesting Southern Decadence festival in New Orleans, was arrested on a charge of masturbating at a Metairie Park Friday afternoon. New Orleans even banned megaphones in the French Quarter as a result of Storms' rants.

"He's done everything through the years to disturb that and try to make it into something nasty that it's not," a Southern Decadence festival organizer said. "If the Rev. Storms is caught doing that in our city, it is ludicrous and heinous that he would have the nerve to complain about any kind of sexuality."
