QFest Announces Festival Favorites
Loose Cannons – 6:15p.m., Ritz East 1: One is good, but two is twice as nice as one family finds out when not one, but two of their sons unknowingly compete to come out to the rest of their family first. Upon the news of the first son’s homosexuality, their father has a heart attack – leaving the younger son to run the family business and decide whether to be true to himself or stay closeted.
A Perfect Ending – 6:15p.m., Ritz East 2: Rebecca is an elegant, prim, and punctilious mother of three grown children and wife to a wealthy husband, who she no longer shares a bed. She has been keeping a secret, one that she’s about to reveal to her lesbian best friends – she’s never had an orgasm! In an effort to locate her G-spot, Rebecca meets Paris, a high-priced bisexual escort, and the two could have never predicted what develops between them.
The Men Next Door – 6:15p.m., Ritz at the Bourse: Reluctantly celebrating his 40th birthday, Doug finds himself falling for two very different men – a 50-year-old, who came out later in life, and an adventurous 30-year-old. How long can he juggle both relationships, especially after finding out that the two men are father and son!
BearCity 2: The Proposal – 8:30p.m., Ritz East 1: Those loveable, hilarious bears are back for another helping, but they are heading to P-town this time! All of the fun revolves around the impending nuptials of Roger and his twink boyfriend Tyler – but will P-town’s bear week get in the way of their walk down the aisle?
Naked As We Came – 8:30p.m., Ritz East 2: Two brothers set out to bring their mother back to New York City with them. Their plans are complicated when they find out she is living with a handsome, mysterious young gay man.
The day after the official Closing Night festivities, QFest will offer one last farewell on Monday, July 23 by presenting a lineup of 6 films that serve as a great snapshot of this year’s 12-day LGBT cinema extravaganza.
