AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania to hold its 13th Annual Summer Movie Party

The AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania is holding its annual Summer Movie Party fundraiser, a Secret Cinema screening of “Sudden Fear!” with Joan Crawford on Friday, August 17 at 6 p.m. The AIDS Law Project provides free legal services to people with HIV/AIDS. The event is open to the public.

The event will be held at the William Way Community Center, located at 1315 Spruce Street in Philadelphia. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the movie will begin at 7:30 p.m. Light fare and drinks are included, including beer from Yards and Philadelphia Brewing Co. Also, hundreds of travel guides from the library of longtime Philadelphia Inquirer travel-advice columnist Don Groff will be available for $1 each, with all proceeds going to the AIDS Law Project.

“Sudden Fear!” was released in 1952 and directed by David Miller. “After an ambitious actor (Jack Palance) insinuates himself into the life of a wealthy middle-aged playwright (Joan Crawford) and marries her, he plots with his mistress to murder her.” –IMDb. Scandalous!

Movie party admission is a minimum tax-deductible donation of $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Pre-paid reservations are recommended. For tickets, call the AIDS Law Project at 215-587-9377 or visit www.aidslawpa.org.
